My qualifications:

I have worked under three different EUS executive positions
I have been your EUS Spirit Coordinator, Food and Beverage Manager, and Elections Administrator
I was a House Manager for my fraternity, working with a budget, and spreadsheets similar to what will be required of VP Finance
Please see my Facebook event for more information!

Parth Arora

Hi UBC engineers, my name is Parth Arora and I’m running to be your VP finance. I am a fourth year Electrical engineering student minoring in commerce with a major passion for helping student organizations succeed.

I have been involved in various student groups throughout my undergraduate degree, and I plan to use my experience to grow EUS further. I have been part of the Library Advisory committee, UBC rec team, and some cultural clubs. As the President/treasurer of one of UBC’s largest student clubs, Indian Student Association, I have extensive experience with large events and their budgeting.

As your EUS VP Finance, I have a simple agenda focusing on providing the EUS members the best value for their money. Learning from the recent student requests, I aim to take the financial transparency of EUS to the next level by not just declaring the budgets and expenses to the students, but also allow them to have a say in it so each dollar is allocated with fairness.
With experience in budgeting large events, I plan to minimize the costs for the EUS events while still striving to enhance the experience, and allocate the extra budget towards making Eatery and Red sales more affordable.

Most importantly, to encourage the innovative EUS students, I will push towards more funding for PAF so more students are able to avail the resources they are entitled to.

You will receive an email on April 5th at 12:01 am informing you that voting is open if you are eligible to vote in the EUS By-Election. All members who pay the EUS fee are eligible to vote.

If you are having any issues voting on the ballot, please email elections@ubcengineers.ca with [VOTING ISSUE] in the subject so we can response right away.
