What’s a Pro-D Event?
Working with Engineering Student Services we will be hosting several Professional Development Events this year. Topics and dates can be found on our Calendar! If you have any questions, you can contact the Professional Development Director or VP Academic.
Last year, some of the topics included:
- Transitioning into University
- Getting Involved at UBC
- Career Fair Prep
- Working in Groups: Strength Finder
- Resume & Cover Letter Workshop
For these events we bring in organizations from the industry to help build your professional network. These associations include the Engineers and Geoscientists of British Columbia (EGBC) that host industry mixers and salary seminars.
Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia
EGBC is the licensing body in British Columbia for professional engineers and geoscientists. The association regulates the practice and actions of the professionals in the name of public interest.
Engineers and Geoscientists BC also serves to support the professionals that make up its membership. Working to progress professional conduct, accountability, and excellence, they are a positive driving force for the engineering community.
EGBC has a wealth of qualified professionals and information at your disposal. More information can be found on their website. There, you’ll find resources for professionals and aspiring engineers alike.
