Wellness Week, happening November 22nd to 26th

When was the last time you took a moment for yourself? The days are short and the midterms are long, but the EUS and Engi You Wellness are here to help you get through this term. This will be a week filled with friends, exercise, and prizes, so stay tuned for updates!

How it works

You will receive one entry for each event that you attend (and put your name down for). You will receive one additional entry if you share our Instagram post on your story and tag @ubcengineers, and one entry for each day that you log at least 30 minutes of activity on Strava. You will receive 5 points for attending one of our workshops.

Events (so far)

  • Strava Get Moving Challenge

    • Your challenge between November 20th and 26th is to get at least 30 minutes of exercise per day. This can be swimming or rolling, sprinting or strolling. Just make sure you join our Strava team to record your activity! (strava.com/clubs/1001253)

  • Yoga session

    • Whether you’re looking to find balance in body or in mind, yoga session is the perfect place to do it. Sign up for the “Hatha with Vannia” session at 12:30pm on Thursday, November 25th with our promo code (EUSClassPass) at ubcyogaclub.com/schedule

  • Wellness moments

  • Run/walk to Pacific Spirit

    • If you have never been to Pacific Spirit you must check it out! UBC’s very own forest is an incredible place to go when you’re feeling stressed, so join us at the ESC at 10am on Friday, November 26th. This will happen rain or shine, so prepare to get a little muddy!

  • Pet ‘therapy’

    • When I’m stressed, I scoop up my cat and bury my face in her. It never fails to make me feel better! For all you poor souls who don’t have a pet, come to the ESC on Friday from 2 to 3:30pm to get some puppy play time!

  • Futsal

  • Games night online

    • It’s time to close out the week with a chill games night. Reconnect with the friends you met throughout the week and relax! This will take place online at 7:30pm on Friday, November 26th

Past

  • Run/walk across campus

    • On Monday, November 22nd at 5pm we will be hosting a group run and a group walk across campus. Make sure you show up for the special guest!

  • Wellness workshop

    • Self care is important, but so is getting help when you need it. This is why we have invited UBC Wellness Centre to host their Live Well Zoom session on Monday, November 22nd at 6pm. You will get to hear from experts, ask questions, plus receive bonus entries for the raffle!

  • Boxing session

    • Ever get so frustrated at a midterm you wish you could just smack it to pieces? Bring your old midterms (or just your pumped-up self) to the ESC at 12pm on Tuesday the 23rd for a boxing session!

  • Fuel your brain

    • Junk food is amazing. It’s cheap, convenient, and filling. What’s not amazing is how you feel afterwards… So come to the ESC at 1pm on November 23rd (right after boxing!) to learn how healthy eating can be cheap and easy, too! Plus, stock up on healthy snacks for midterm season!
