EUS Endorses Dylan Evans for 2026-27 AMS President

After careful consideration, the Engineering Undergraduate Society proudly endorses Dylan Evans for the 2026 AMS Election. We believe strongly that Dylan is the best and only candidate for AMS President that Engineering students should support.

Dylan has a proven track record supporting the EUS and Engineering Department Clubs as VP Administration and we’re confident that he will only continue this as President. During his time as AMS VP Admin, Dylan has demonstrated a strong commitment to supporting engineering students. Over the past year he worked closely with the EUS on many initiatives, including establishing a dedicated renewal policy for department clubs, assisting with policy reviews affecting constituencies, and becoming the first VP Admin in the AMS’ history to get bookings processed before the first day of class.

Dylan brings an important constituency-focused perspective to the role. He is the only candidate with any Constituency executive experience, and through his work with student societies across campus, he understands the operational realities groups like the EUS and Department Clubs face. Throughout this election he also took the time to meaningfully engage with the EUS and understand the needs of engineering students, developing commitments that address challenges our organizations face. As Forestry President Dylan restarted the (Heated?) Rivalry between Engineering and Forestry, and was a good sport when we won.

The AMS President plays a key role in processes that directly affect student societies, including bookings, reimbursements, contracts, and operational support. Dylan has also committed to providing the EUS access to the AMS legal/institutional support during the Applied One project which will be crucial to ensure proper space allocation for Design Teams, Department Clubs, and Makerspace.

The EUS hereby grants Dylan Evans a conditional pardon for his previous crimes against the Cairn, and encourages all Engineers to do the same, at least for now!
AMS Election voting runs March 9th - 13th @ 5PM. We encourage all UBC Engineers to vote, read each candidate’s platform carefully, and make an informed decision when casting their vote.
